WHY EAST CHARLOTTE?

The city of Charlotte is growing rapidly, nearly surpassing 1 million residents. However, not all of the city looks the same. On the East side of the city, there is a very interesting cultural development taking place.  The last decades have brought a great influx of diverse immigrant heritages to this part of the city, now inhabited by a little more than 300k residents. This influx, added to the inherent cultural diversity of East Charlotte, has created a colorful expression of a true, diverse community.

East Charlotte is not a unified district and it has no official boundaries, yet it is generally recognized as the area within the east of Independence Boulevard (NC Highway 74), west of W.T. Harris Boulevard., and south of The Plaza.  With the growth of the city and all the investment taking place within Charlotte’s city limits, East Charlotte has become a strategic place to bring the gospel, in order to reach the greatly diverse, beautiful community of people: diverse in their stages and walks of life, and from heritages that represent the entire globe.
